Frequently Asked Questions
Wedding photo

Hopefully, this FAQ can help answer some of the questions that you may have for me.

If your challenge cannot be answered by the following article, please click HERE to send me a question or comment.

  • Q: I was a guest at a wedding you photographed. Can I see some pictures?
  • A: Yes. Please visit the Recent Events section of my web site. I do not use login/password protection anymore.

  • Q: I see only two answered questions, and Tips for The Bride has some cosmetic advice... Is that it?!
  • A: Of course, there is a whole lot more to read. Just click the "Read more" link or an article's title, and you will see!

  • Q: I know you're a photojournalist, but we want to do some formal portraits as well. Do you offer those?
  • A: Yes, I do! Editorial portraiture is a big part of everyday photojournalist assignments, but I tend to keep my focus on the candid pictures. Any portrait I shoot is natural and spontaneous, and I do reserve a small portion of time to shoot requested posed pictures. Since you'd rather spend your day having fun than being directed by photographer, I work quickly and efficiently to shoot any requested photos and let the day progress naturally.

  • Q: Do you work with a "shot list"?
  • A: No. When I see the moment I photograph it. I do not stage or recreate moments. I keep my eyes open, and I am always looking around for images.

  • Q: How many images do you shoot?
  • A: There is no set number of images. Every event is different. You can expect anywhere between 300 and 2000 images from a wedding, or between 10 and 100 images from the average portrait session.

  • Q: Do you shoot film or digital?
  • A: I am strictly digital nowadays. In theatrically dark venues, the sensitivity of modern professional sensors is unbeatable!

  • Q: How do we book you? Can we meet you at your studio? Do we even have to meet?
  • A: Many clients like to meet with a photographer before booking them. If you are in the Atlanta area, or I am traveling to your area, I always welcome a meeting with you.

If you live far away, are overseas, or just have a fast-paced and hectic schedule, I understand that meetings can be difficult. I usually meet my clients in person, but I've also booked weddings and bar/bat mitzvahs based on my samples posted on this Web site, and even just on my reputation!

With my photojournalistic background, I have years of experience jumping right into photographing stories where I have only one chance to make important images.

Either way, please contact me for details, and if you wish, we can schedule an appointment.

  • Q: Will you hold a date for me?
  • A: I cannot hold a date without a signed contract and non-refundable booking retainer. The prime wedding season is quite short, usually May through October. Those six months are hot. If you don't book, someone else will. Please take as much time as you need to make a decision and then call me to check my availability for the day of your Wedding.

Q: Are you going to be the actual photographer at our wedding?
A: Yes, I am going to be your wedding photographer.

Q: Do you have backup equipment and is it of the same quality as the primary equipment?
A: Yes, I always carry backup equipment with me when shooting events. Each camera setup includes at least two of everything: lenses, flashes, etc. It is of the same quality as the primary setup.
